Dialysis or hemodialysis is a treatment procedure to filter waste and water from the blood, just like the function of the kidneys in the body. So this procedure can be called a replacement for a damaged kidney. Apart from filtering and removing body toxins, hemodialysis also helps balance important minerals, such as calcium, potassium and sodium and controls blood pressure.
Dialysis Unit Room is a room for performing dialysis (Hemodialysis) or kidney replacement therapy. The Dialysis Unit is located on the 7th floor of the Main Building of Regina Maris Hospital. This unit serves patients with chronic kidney disease or kidney failure. Served by Internal Medicine Specialists Sub-Specialists in Hypertension Kidney, General Practitioners, and Trained Nurses.
Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) is a dialysis method that is carried out through the stomach. This method utilizes the lining of the abdominal cavity (peritoneum), which has a wide surface and lots of blood vessel tissue, as a natural filter when waste substances pass through. This process is usually done 3 to 4 times a day, by leaving the solution in your stomach overnight. Each exchange lasts approximately 30 minutes.
The VIP Treatment Room in the Dialysis Unit is one of the superior facilities in the Dialysis Unit, so that patients are more comfortable in carrying out Hemodialysis procedures.
